Field groups allow you to group related custom fields together, providing a structured and user-friendly way to collect additional information.
Steps to create field groups
There are two ways you can create field groups using ACPT.
Method 1 :
The first step is to navigate to the Custom Post Type section under the ACPT Plugin. Once there, locate the custom post type you want to associate with your Field Groups. In the Field Group column for that specific custom post type, click on Create. This action will take you directly to the Field Group settings, where the group name and location are automatically pre-filled.
In this tutorial, our custom post type is named “recipes.” As a result, the group name is automatically populated as “recipes_group_name,” and the location is set to “post type is equal to Recipe,” indicating that any fields we create within this Field Group will be displayed in the Recipes custom post type.
Method 2 :
The second method is to go to the ACPT and click on Field Groups under the ACPT. After clicking this, you will notice that there are no existing Field Groups. To create a new one, simply click the button that says Create New Meta Group.
After clicking Create New Meta Group, you will be taken to a new screen where you can create your Field Groups. It’s important to note that this method does not automatically populate the group name or the location where these Field Groups will appear. Therefore, you will need to manually enter these two details before proceeding with any other settings.
